Methodist Church Friday Night Prayers
New Covenant United Methodist Church, meets together every Friday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM to seek the face of God, following the call in Psalm 17:6: “I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.” This sacred time is set aside for deep, heartfelt prayer, where we lift up our lives, needs, our community, and the growth of our church before the Lord.
Our Friday night prayer sessions begin with powerful spiritual songs, setting the atmosphere for worship and ushering in the presence of the Holy Spirit. These songs inspire and prepare our hearts for what God wants to do in our midst. Following the worship, a brief exhortation is shared by the leading minister, offering encouragement, biblical insight, and spiritual guidance. These words help to focus our hearts on God’s promises and remind us of His faithfulness.
After the exhortation, we enter into intense prayer. We bring before God the concerns and challenges that we face personally, as well as the needs of our church and community. Through fervent prayer, we pray for healing, breakthrough, protection, guidance, and wisdom in all aspects of life. We also pray for the continued growth of New Covenant UMC, asking God to deepen our faith, strengthen our unity, and expand our outreach to those in need.
The time is marked by a deep intercession for one another and lifting specific prayer requests for people who may need it. Through it’s time of corporate prayer, we grow closer as a body, united in our pursuit of God’s will for our lives and our church. Every Friday night, we experience a powerful time of prayer that strengthens our faith and empowers us to live out God’s calling in our lives.
